April 1st Updates from Advent:

Holden Evening Prayer will be on Facebook Live           at 7 PM and shortly after the service video will be linked to the website.  Click on this link for a booklet to follow along.

Women's Ministry Bible Study will meet Tuesday, April 7th at 10 AM in our own homes.  Please have your Bible and Gather Magazine ready and we will study our lesson at the same time.  This is Session 4 of "We Are Called".

Please take a moment to look through the prayer list on last Sunday's bulletin (either sent to you via email or you can find on our website) and let me know if there is anyone that needs to be added or taken off of the list. We suspect to have more people added to list during this season and would like to make sure that we can have a current and most accurate prayer list.

Our food bank is open and running with added precautions. We have not been stretched beyond our means yet, but we know that with the 30 day stay at home order + an extension always on the horizon, many people will be looking for assistance soon. If you would like to contribute food towards the food bank, please let me know by emailing me and I will let you know where to drop off food. Please let us at Advent know since our church hours are limited at this time and we will make sure to have someone come by to move food into our basement.

March 28th Updates from Advent:

Happy Saturday Advent!

You will find three attachments below:

1. March 29th Bulletin for Sunday morning worship

2. Lessons for the Sunday morning worship

3. Liturgy for The Table Sunday evening at 5 p.m.

You can access both worship services on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/adventwestminsterco/

Sunday Morning worship will be held Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

The Table worship will be held Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

We are so excited to be able to bring back our Alternative Worship since we have been working through the kinks in these trying times. We hope you will join us for one or both! If you haven't checked out The Table, now it the time to do so in the comfort of your own home!

As a reminder, this Sunday is a Jubilee Sunday! Now is the best time to catch up with your pledges or give more during this time of uncertainty. You can give to Advent by mailing your giving to 7979 Meade St. Westminster, CO 80030 OR online through Tithe.ly: https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give-one-time/249912 .

If you need help or have questions about your offerings, please let us know.

Following service, we will post the worship for you to view from our website: www.adventwestminster.org.  If you can't view it live, please watch at your convenience.

Wishing everyone to stay healthy and safe during these long days. Advent is here to help you if you are in need of assistance or just need someone to socialize with. Please reach out if you are in need of anything.

Thank you!

March 25th Updates from Advent:

Holden Evening Prayer will be on Facebook Live           at 7 PM and shortly after the service video will be linked to the website.  Click on this link for a booklet to follow along.

March 24th Updates from Advent:

Our weekly income is down by around 70% so please don't forget to send in your offering. Whether it is sent in the mail, dropped off in our mailbox or given through

(link here : https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give-one-time/249912 ). If you have questions or need further assistance with this, please let us know.

- We have had many express interest in assisting with the food bank. We recently put in a box that will allow you all to drop off food and keep it safe from the elements until someone grabs and puts inside. The box is located in-between our two sheds on the southwest side of the church. We have scheduled a volunteer to come every day to take food inside to our food bank so please feel free to leave food when convenient. If you can let me know you plan to bring food over via email, it would help us stay connected on how much food we have to provide.

- There will be no April Advance Newsletter next month. At this time we believe emails suffice in giving you all the information we have. We hope to have more things set up in the next month that will allow us to send out more information and a calendar to you all, but for now the emails that are sent from me + updates on the church website are the best way to stay notified.

- Pastor Barb has left some hymnals in the Little Library located in our parking lot. You may take home and barrow if you prefer to read the music while you follow along with Sunday worship on Facebook. We also have copies of the Wednesday Holden Evening prayer and April-June Devotionals located in the library for you to keep.

Special Notes:

1. April ADVENTurers: The April 18th event to tour the Arvada Flour Mill, The Historical Society and out to lunch is cancelled.

2. Dear Advent family!

The Bradley family graciously thanks all those who had Mary Ann in their thoughts and prayers during her recent heart problems and eventual surgery. We also are deeply grateful for all the cards and meals that were brought to and delivered to our home. Your kindness has gone above and beyond. We are honored to be a part of this awesome church, and you are most certainly in our thoughts and prayers as we all navigate this horrible time with this wicked virus. We pray that you are all in good health and
care! Love the Bradleys

3. From Jill Hartmann:

I’ve been listening to this podcast about faith during this pandemic for two days now and it has really helped me. Thought I would share in case you are interested, too! Here’s a link for today’s episode:

If you don’t have Spotify, here’s a link to March 18th's episode on the host’s website: http://www.theendofhistory.net/christian-worldview/pandemic-devotional-2-invisible-threats-and-hopes/

March 21st Updates from Advent:

1. Our online worship will be held at 9:30 on Facebook click on logo to get there).               Click here for bulletin and here for the lessons for tomorrow, Sunday, March 22nd.  Grab some coffee and breakfast and join us from your couch! Don't forget a bowl of water for the "Baptismal Remembrance".

2. You should be getting a phone call sometime this weekend, if you haven't already, from an Advent member calling to check in with you! We want to know how you are doing and if there is anything we could do to provide you more comfort during this time of isolation.

3. There are devotionals, Holden Evening Prayer pamphlets and hymnals in the Little Library located in the church parking lot. If there are none available, please let us know.

4. Please continue to mail checks to Advent: 7979 Meade St. Westminster, CO 80030 OR you can elect to donate electronically through the platform Tithe.ly. Jill and Natalie can answer any questions you may have. If you would like to drop them off, our mailbox is secure and you can put it in there. Someone should be at the church every other day and will collect mail.

5. Pastor Barb will not be taking the Sabbatical she was set to take in May. The dates have yet to be determined, but she will be available through these next months of uncertainty.

Thank you all! Please let us know if you need anything further.

March 18th Updates from Advent:

1. Holden Evening Prayer will take place TONIGHT AT 7 P.M. on Facebook Live (click on logo to get there).           If you would like a copy of the Holden Prayer pamphlet, we have placed some in our Little Library located in our parking lot. Grab some soup and have dinner with your family before joining us on Facebook this evening!

2. We have received questions about our bulletins and if we can include the hymns within the bulletin. From now on, the PDF version you receive via email will include the hymns so that you may follow along without a hymnal.

3. IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO REACH THOSE WITHOUT TECHNOLOGY! The CRT (Corona Response Team) are bouncing back ideas on how we can connect to those without internet and we need your help! If you know of someone who does not have access to email, Facebook, the internet, etc. please let us know! We would love to drop off bulletins and make sure there is a way that they can view (or listen) to the Sunday worship. The most important part in our mission is to maintain a sense of "community" during this time of isolation.

4. Easter lilies have been cancelled this year per King Soopers not being able to get them in stock to deliver to us. I have personally not seen anyone pay for one as of yet, but please email me if that is incorrect.

5. We are working through our food bank and how it will be operating. We plan to continue to serve those in need, but we haven't had many people reach out in regards to needing assistance. The Social Outreach Committee will be meeting this afternoon and will be providing more insight on how we will proceed.

6. If you need assistance obtaining food and other necessities, or help with running errands please let us know! We have had a couple people reach out wanting to help those who are in need. Respond to this email and I can make it happen.

If you have questions/ concerns, send them my way! As always stay healthy and safe during this time.

Thank you,

Natalie @ Advent Lutheran Church

Join us tomorrow, Sunday, March 15th for a LIVE worship at 9:30 a.m. through our Facebook page found here:

We have made our live stream public and believe this will allow you to view the worship service without needing a Facebook account, but again, bear with us as we work through this entire new process for all of us.

Following our 9:30 worship, we will be linking the video to our website. This process could take upwards of an hour, so we encourage you to look for this video after 11:30 a.m. tomorrow. A separate email will be sent out to you once we can confirm that it uploaded appropriately. The video link will be on our home page.

Click here for the Sunday March 15th morning bulletin in PDF version so that you can follow along.

On a separate, yet similar note, during this unprecedented time it is even more important to be faithful in your giving. We anticipate that our church will have increased requests for help. Your continued giving will help us support each other and our community, meet our financial obligations and will further support our work and mission.

Please consider giving in the following ways:

1) Use this Tithe.ly link to give a one-time or weekly gift until we can reconvene in person

2) Direct mail or have the bank mail your offering check to 7979 Meade St, Westminster, CO 80030

3) Save your offering intentionally and give during our first in-person worship

As of March 14th -

Out of respect to the request of Governor Polis and Bishop Jim Gonia, our Sunday morning worship and all meetings and activities will be cancelled at the church effective immediately until at least April 5th.  We will be sending you information soon about how you can worship and work with us online. We are taking every precaution to ensure that we are staying safe during this trying time. Please watch your email daily for updates on how we will continue to be community through the weeks ahead. The Coronavirus Response Team (CRT) made up of leaders in the congregation with various areas of expertise is working on finalizing the online platform that will be used and we will report back via email tomorrow on where you can view Sunday's worship or attend meetings. We will need to work together to be a help to each other and our neighbors during this unprecedented crisis.

We cannot stress enough how important it is that we reach out to those who do not receive these emails. If you know of someone who does not have access to email and/or internet please reach out to them AND let us know. We would like to make up a list of folks who need phone information, and a list of folks who are willing to make calls to make sure we are reaching everyone within our community to keep them informed. Send Natalie an email with information about anyone you know who needs to be on this list, and if you are willing to a part of the “Phone Messengers”.

On another note, in order to best figure out how we can serve our neighbors in need during this trying time, we need to "Beef up" the Social Outreach Committee.  If you are willing to serve, and can access a computer to attend a few "Zoom" meetings (we'll send instructions) this week, please contact Chris Hanson.

Thank you all so much,
