radio players

The Advent Radio Players started their very special unique ministry which began in the spring of 2012. The Ministry of the Advent Radio Players continues to promote Advent Lutheran Church with these performances by providing wholesome family entertainment to Advent members and the entire community.  Several Advent members in the cast are engaged in a very fun and highly rewarding activity!

These radio plays are performed live using original scripts of the old-time radio shows just like they were when they were originally broadcast.  Stand-up microphones, on the air and applause lights, sound effects and commercials from the original programs enabled the audience to feel like they were the original studio audience when the programs were broadcast so many years ago!

The audience enjoyed two classic old time radio dramas performed LIVE on Sunday, May 3rd. Our first play was an episode from the Whistler series "Urge to Kill" which was broadcast October 4,1942.  "The Whistler" was one of the earliest radio suspense programs to gain a large following. Our second play was a chilling episode from the Suspense series "The Whole Town's Sleeping," which aired on June 14, 1955.  Suspense was one of the premier drama programs in old time radio.

Proceeds of $604.00 raised from admission will benefit Holy Hammers, a part of Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver.

The plays are still available on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/adventwestminsterco

Stay tuned for our Fall Radio Plays coming Sunday, November 21, 2026.
