RADIO PLAYERS

Advent Radio Players cast and crew after their the November 2025 show.

The Advent Radio Players began their very unique ministry in the spring of 2012 by performing live radio plays using original scripts from old-time radio shows. They provide wholesome family entertainment to the community, and several cast members are also Advent members engaged in a fun and highly rewarding activity.

These radio plays are performed live using original scripts of the old-time radio shows just like they were when they were originally broadcast. Stand-up microphones, "on the air" and "applause" lights, sound effects, and commercials from the original programs helps the audience feel like they are the original studio audience, just like when the programs were originally broadcast.

The Radio Players most recent performance was on May 3. The first play was an episode from the Whistler series titled "Urge to Kill," which was first broadcast on Oct. 4, 1942. The Whistler was one of the earliest radio suspense programs to gain a large following. The second play was a chilling episode from the Suspense series titled "The Whole Town's Sleeping," which first aired on June 14, 1955. Suspense was one of the premier drama programs in old time radio.

Proceeds of $604 raised from admission were donated to Holy Hammers, a part of Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver.
